Channel Island NT

Survey Point Channel Island NT
Latitude-12.5541667 (12° 33′ 15″ S)
Longitude130.8700000 (130° 52′ 12″ E)

At the end of Channel Island Rd access off the Stuart Hwy is either from Noonamah west along Jenkins Rd or south from Palmerston as a continuation of Temple Terrace. One can drive across the bridge onto the island but disappointingly the reserve is fenced off, also pedestrians aren’t allowed on the bridge. There is enough room however to get a look along the coast from the embankment going onto the bridge and a small area that is not fenced off for one to get a few birds here. With the embankment being so high you are at tree-top level. There are mangroves along the shore.

No camping is allowed here though there seems to be no restriction at the nearby boat ramp
