About 25km NE of Taree, Coopernook settlement is just to the west of the Pacific Hwy. Lansdowne Rd heads off NW from here, about 5km along Forest Rd heads NE into the forest, the camp is a large open area about 2km in. This is a large and popular free campsite, there are a few trails you can walk along to access the forest. Unfortunately due its popularity the forest is being denuded of firewood to feed unnecessarily monstrous campfires.
