On the Wilsons Promontary Rd about 5km NW of Yanakie Black Swamp Rd heads north, about 2km along it Charles Hutt Rd heads east, a walking track leads down to the shore from the bend in the road at its closest to the inlet, it can be very boggy off the track. At the start of the walk is woodland that gives way to samphire flat and then tidal flat. The point to the north is a roosting spot for waterbirds and waders.
