On the Hume Hwy, 5 miles from Gundegai (or 8km north), the statue of the dog is a pleasant wayside spot by the highway with service stations and eateries. There’s an open area with a few trees to stroll around and stretch the legs. The statue was originally set up to raise funds for a hospital, which it still does from the wishing well. It is a reference to the misfortunes of a ficticious bullock driver in a poem.

There’s no camping here.
