About 3km east of Ararat just north of the Western Hwy, the lake usually has water in it, and is quite a haven for birds, there is some woodland here and be sure to check out the drain on the SE side of lake. On the SW side of the lake is a free campsite.
Camp rating 6 This has to be one of the best well equipped free campsites in Australia, but it’s right by the always busy Western Hwy and is always busy, peak times stay away!
