About 1km west of Boort on the Charlton Rd Wychitella Bus Route Rd heads south, about 2km down Barcley Rd branches off to the SE and about 2km down that the woodland around the lake starts. There is an access track into the lake about 200m down, just down the track there is a gate and a track heading north, the site is based on that track about 200m to the north. There is good woodland in the area. The lake to the east is usually dry.
