Just to the east of the township to the north of Perth, access is off Indian Ocean Drive or Yanchep Beach Rd. There is a mixture of parkland and bushland in the vicinity. The lake is generally low and getting lower due to loss of ground water. There are a number of walking tracks, one that circles the lake, but with the only sighting of the lake being near the visitor centre. There are entrance fees for this park. We have done camp hosting here, I recommend doing it.
No free camping but there is a small campground about 500m from the lake with national park fees.
